A downloadable soundtrack

My submission for the OST Game Jam 6.

Defuse That Bomb! is a puzzle style game with loose inspiration from 'Papers, Please'. You are a bomb specialist caught up in a criminal's twisted game show 'Defuse That Bomb!' The criminal mastermind  placed time bombs throughout the city and it's your job to diffuse them all. The gameplay loops is as follows:

- You receive a list of instructions

- You must follow those instructions to the 'T' in order to defuse the bomb

- Any mistake equals a strike. Three strikes and you have to start from the beginning.

- There's two ways to lose the game. Cutting the wrong wire, and running out of time.

- As you progress, instructions get more complex and time gets shorter.

The music has a 8-bit feel, as I solely used BeepBox for my tracks.

Track 1 - Title Screen

Despite the fact you're tasked with defusing bombs that can potentially harm many people, the intro has an upbeat tune due to the fact the player is on a game show. The beginning is similar to something you'll hear on Wheel of Fortune, while the rest of the track is good ol' NES goodness. There's a constant tick tock to correlate with the theme.

Track 2- Options

Derives a bit from the Title Screen, yet being it's own song. Nothing more than your catchy NES style tunes while you alter your sound, or change the difficulty, or whatever people do on an option screen.

Track 3 - Gameplay

This is something I've never done before. Go SUPER minimalistic. The reason why I decided to go this route was because the player is supposed to be focused on the instructions and doing everything right. This also is a throw back to some games in the NES library where the music is similarly sparse.  The tick tock of the clock is the focal point and reminds the player that time is limited and the tap of the cymbals  along with the spare bass riff gives it a super secret spy mission vibe.  The music is timed to the seconds of the clock.

Track 4 - Time's Up

The player is talking too long and there's only a minute left on the clock. As the time tick downs the music gets more and more frantic urging the player to hurry up before the eventual boom. But alas, it's all in vain, as the music ends with a big BOOM!  Thanks for playing! This track is also timed to the seconds of the clock and is exactly 1:00 long. (it's 1:04 because of the bomb explosion at the end)
